Abraham-Louis Breguet is often regarded as one of the founding fathers of modern watchmaking. Through numerous inventions and his unmistakable signature style, he left an indelible mark on the industry. On June 26th, 1801, A.L. Breguet patented his most renowned invention, the tourbillon regulator.
In tribute to this genius inventor, Breguet is unveiling a new edition of its most complex tourbillon watch today—the Classique Double Tourbillon “Quai de l’Horloge” 5345, now in rose gold with an intricately decorated dial and a modern twist.
Now, Breguet presents a new rose gold edition of the Classique Double Tourbillon “Quai de l’Horloge” 5345, featuring a fresh visual expression of the brand’s expertise in artistic craftsmanship.
Measuring 46mm in diameter and 16.8mm in thickness, primarily due to its tall box-shaped sapphire crystal, this watch is designed to make a statement. This year, Breguet has swapped platinum for rose gold and introduced a modern twist with a blue rubber strap embossed with Breguet logos. Personally, I’m uncertain about this choice and would prefer a more classic strap. However, preferences vary, and to each their own.
In addition to the change in case material, this new version of the Classique Double Tourbillon showcases refreshed artistic craftsmanship on every surface. The sapphire frame surrounding the dial features laser-engraved Roman numerals and minute markers, highlighted with blue lacquer.
The hands, including the minute hand and the upper bridge that serves as the hour hand, are crafted from blued steel, providing a striking contrast to the rest of the dial. Unlike the platinum edition, which had a silver-toned lower dial with Clou de Paris and fan patterns, this rose gold model features a mobile bridge in rose gold and a lower rhodium-plated mainplate.
Both elements are adorned with a flinqué rayonnant hand-guilloché pattern. Additionally, the two barrel bridges, designed in the shape of openworked B letters, are made of steel and plated with rose gold.

The back of the watch reveals the calibre 588N2, which features a 2.5Hz frequency, 740 components, a double tourbillon with differential, and a 50-hour power reserve. This in-house movement is more visually captivating from the front, where all the technical elements are exposed.
