Piaget’s iconic model, Polo, debuted in 1979 as a luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet. Known for its distinctive design, the Polo was recently reissued in an opulent, full gold version to commemorate the brand’s 150th anniversary.
Today, the Piaget Polo is best recognized in its current form, which underwent a complete redesign in 2016. After introducing several editions in their signature emerald green, such as the Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin and the time-and-date Polo Field, Piaget has now introduced the sporty-chic chronograph in a green “panda” edition.
Featuring the signature emerald green that was seen in many recent Piaget Polo models, this new chronograph pairs a classic grooved dial with a sunray-brushed finish in deep green and silver-toned sub-dials. The hands and applied markers are polished steel filled with Super-LumiNova, creating a nicely contrasted design with a contemporary feel.
Aside from its new colour scheme, the green panda Piaget Polo Chronograph retains the specifications of previous models. It has a 42mm cushion-shaped steel case and a relatively slim 11.2mm thickness, which is really slim for an automatic chronograph.
It offers 100m water resistance and features sapphire crystals on both the front and back. This edition includes a steel bracelet with a triple-folding clasp but does not have the quick-release system available on the QP model, as it would also look stunning on a green rubber strap.

This timepiece is powered by the calibre 1160P, the automatic chronograph movement that was based on the Cartier 1904-CH MC. Even though this movement is so thin, the performance is nice, with 50 hours of power reserve and beating at 4hz. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, you can see the bevelled bridges, blued screws, circular Geneva stripes and a circular-grained plate decoration on this movement.
