In collaboration with Swiss guilloché craftsman Yann von Kaenel, the AP design team updated the previous Code 11.59 model with a special “signature” embossed dial pattern, distinct hands, and different markers for this new collection. All of the new Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 models now come in pink gold to support the new dial design.
The PVD-coated or galvanic-treated dials showcasing the new stamped pattern and extended, flattened, faceted, and polished 18k pink gold hour indices, the seven new references in this series are showcased in rose gold cases.
For best legibility in low light, luminous material has been added to the rose gold hands and indexes. According to AP, minor adjustments were made to the crown’s shape and the seconds scale’s typeface to better complement the 2023 design and the contemporary aesthetic of the watches.
Presented in rose gold cases, the seven new references in this collection feature PVD-coated or galvanic-treated dials with extended, flattened, faceted, and polished 18k pink gold hour indices that feature the new imprinted design.
Luminescent material is used to improve the readability of the rose gold hands and indexes in low light. According to AP, modest adjustments were made to the crown’s shape and the seconds scale’s typography to better complement the watches’ contemporary aesthetic and bring them into line with the 2023 design.
Two of the seven newly added Code 11.59 pink gold references feature time and date functions inside the 38mm case. These 38mm self-winding watches feature a Vaucher-based movement and are distinguished by their coordinating alligator leather straps and unique dial colours.
A dazzling light blue dial and a “pearly light blue alligator strap with large-scale squares” are included in one variation. Simultaneously, the second watch features a glossy dark blue alligator leather strap and the iconic Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 a colour that has long been reserved for the RO Jumbo 39mm. A gold pin clasp fastens both straps, and for further versatility, textured rubber straps in bright or dark blue are also supplied.
The Selfwinding 41mm and the Selfwinding Chronograph 41mm are two other notable versions that include the iconic “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” coloured and embossed dial. With a flyback function, the Chronograph is powered by AP’s automatic Calibre 4401. It features a dial with two blue counters framed in grey at 3 and 9 o’clock, as well as an all-grey sub-dial at 6 o’clock that matches the colour of the inner bezel.
Green shade is used on the inner bezel rings and embossed dials of the pink-gold-cased 11.59 code 41mm self-winding and 41mm self-winding chronograph.
Those series’ specifications are the same: calibre 4401 powers the flyback chronograph and calibre 432 drives the time and date 41mm. Both have a power reserve of 70 hours and work at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
