Breguet has just introduced a new edition of its Classique 7637 Répétition Minutes, a timepiece as simple as it becomes, fully focused on its musical complication, in a stunning mix of pink gold and glossy black grand feu enamel, as an homage to its creator. Breguet Classique 7637 Répétition Minutes in black enamel and pink gold.
Still based on last year’s sleek expression, it introduces a fresh colour and material combination, with an 18k pink gold case and a black enamel dial. It’s more startling, more contrasted, and considerably warmer, yet it’s still pure and exquisite.

The case is a traditional Breguet, measuring 42mm in diameter and 12.2mm in height. The reduced bezel is polished, the sides are fluted, and the straight and thin lugs are individually soldered with screw pins at their tips. Front and rear sapphire crystals are used, and the minute repeater function is operated via a trigger on the left side in the most traditional way.
A new black grand feu enamel dial contrasts with the brilliant and warm gold case. The coloured powders, which are a blend of silica and powdered oxides, are dissolved in water before being applied to the dial. Each layer and colour that is added necessitates an extra firing at a temperature above 800 degrees Celsius for a predetermined amount of time.

The Breguet Arabic numbers, minutes track, and Breguet emblem are brought out in powdered silver on this dial. Open-tipped gold Breguet hands depict the hours and minutes. Nothing flashy, just pure perfection.
The back side of the Breguet Classique 7637 Répétition Minutes reveals a finely adorned movement with detailed engraved bridges. Despite its contemporary construction, this movement is built in a fairly traditional manner, with a central guitar-shaped bridge and three finger bridges for the gear-train – which is known as the original Lemania basis.
The hammers are constructed of black, polished steel and are hitting a series of gongs that are placed in a modern manner. The gongs are attached to the case’s midsection rather than the plate. As a result, they vibrate more directly and effectively transfer sound.
Furthermore, the gongs are made of gold to generate a harmonic sound quality with a richness of partials (overtones), according to the brand. When completely wound, this hand-wound movement beats at 2.5 Hz and has a power reserve of up to 40 hours. To complete this watch, there’s a black alligator strap, closed by a B-signed folding clasp in 18k pink gold.
