Audemars Piguet starts this month with the new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon. This new release is really eye-catching with the iconic “Grande Tapisserie” style dial, a 41mm x 10.7mm titanium case, and the swanky, spinning action of the flying tourbillon at six o’clock.
The Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 41mm has been updated, joining three other releases that were unveiled in January as part of the first wave of Royal Oak anniversary releases.

The new case on these watches has been subtly reworked, with more expansive bevels on the case and bracelet, a thinner first link of the bracelet, a slightly sunken sapphire crystal for the caseback, and updated hour markers and hands. This model has identical dimensions to the current pre-2022 Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon models.
The self-winding calibre 2950 and the three-dimensional dial of this Audemars Piguet, which was made utilising sophisticated galvanic growth, are further features that are carried over to the current version.
The self-winding movement is the same one that AP introduced in 2019 as part of the initial CODE 11:59 launch, and it comes with a strong set of specifications, including 65 hours of power reserve, a 3 Hz rate, a one-minute rotation, a three-hand rhodium-toned cage, and a free-spring balance set.
Additionally, because it is a so-called “flying tourbillon,” the tourbillon cage has no top bridge, allowing viewers to see the calibre 2950 inside. The joyful “50 Years” emblem that appeared on the oscillating weight of the first releases is no longer present, even though it is regarded to be a part of the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary celebration.
