In a recent move, the luxury brand Chopard has expanded its footprint with the inauguration of a prestigious hospitality establishment at Place Vendôme 1 in Paris. This boutique hotel boasts five meticulously designed rooms and ten suites, each exuding its own distinctive charm.
To celebrate the debut of the Chopard Hotel, the brand has launched the Chopard L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One, a unique timepiece exclusively offered at the brand’s boutique situated on the hotel’s ground floor.
The latest iteration of the L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer model carries forward the legacy of previous commemorative editions, such as the L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Royal Arms of England, introduced to celebrate the reopening of the Chopard boutique in London, and the recent XPS 1860 Officer SHH Edition, created to pay tribute to the longstanding partnership between the Maison and the renowned Singapore retailer.
The Vendôme One edition stands as a tribute to Chopard’s dedication to heritage. It features an ethical 18-carat yellow gold case measuring 40mm x 7.7mm. The case is meticulously crafted with vertical satin-brushed flanks and inter-horn space, complemented by a polished case middle and caseback.
Its distinctive feature is the crown-integrated pusher, designed to open the hinged cover safeguarding the exhibition caseback. This cover, itself a masterpiece, is embellished with a hand-guilloché honeycomb motif on the exterior and a hand-engraved Sun on the interior, a nod to Louis XIV, the visionary monarch behind the creation of Place Vendôme.
Inspired by the era of King Louis XIV, this timepiece’s dial showcases a captivating hand-guilloché honeycomb pattern at its center, accompanied by a contrasting snailed small seconds subdial positioned at 6 o’clock. Drawing from the regal ambience of Place Vendôme, where every door is adorned in blue, symbolizing royalty, the dial’s base is elegantly painted in Bering blue.
The arrowhead-shaped indices and Dauphine-style hands are gilded to harmonize with the case metal, adding a touch of opulence. Additionally, a discreet aperture located at the bottom of the dial discreetly reveals the current date.
The sophisticated Chopard L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One ensures chronometer-certified precision with its ultra-thin L.U.C 96.01-L movement, which was originally introduced in 1996 and measures a mere 3.3mm thick. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, this movement features a 22k yellow gold micro-rotor and two barrels and grants an impressive 65-hour power reserve.

It is presented on a brown calfskin strap with ecru bridle stitching and blue leather lining, fastened with a pin buckle crafted from ethical 18-carat yellow gold.
