In October 2020, Chopard will proudly reclaim its role as lead sponsor and official timekeeper of the Chopard Mille Miglia, Italy’s famous classic car rally, continuing a tradition that the Maison has upheld since 1988.
Each year, Chopard’s commitment to this event provides an opportunity for Maison’s co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele to show his passion for motor cars by taking part in the 1,000 miles (1,600 km) endurance race that sees competitors complete a loop from Brescia to Rome and back.
And each year, the Maison unveils a new collection of Mille Miglia watches to celebrate what is regularly dubbed the most beautiful race in the world. For the new edition in 2020, Chopard introduced a chronograph, the Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Power Control in stainless steel and an 18K rose gold edition that was limited to 500 pieces.

The Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chrono comes with a 44mm steel case that features a tachymeter bezel and mushroom-type pusher on it. This model also features an elegant “Azzurro” blue dial, which contrasts superbly with the “Mille Miglia red” used for the detail of the hands and the instantly recognizable, arrow-shaped race logo framing the date window.
Entirely developed produced, and assembled in the Chopard watchmaking workshops, the Chopard 01.08-C caliber, a self-winding mechanical movement, is a COSC-certified chronometer with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
With a 60-hour power reserve and a stop-second function, it displays hours, minutes, seconds, the power reserve and the date with the precision and elegance characterizing Chopard.
From 1988 until today, Chopard offers timeless models with resolutely sporty characters tinged with deliciously retro accents, much like the rally that inspires it. This model is limited to 750 pieces and comes with a blue perforated calf leather strap with a rubber lining inspired by vintage Dunlop racing tires.
